Where Creativity and Imaginations are Nurtured.
Independence is Encouraged and Communication Supported.

The Growing Place Preschool offers programming for children ages 2-5 years old. The preschool emphasizes character development, promotes care and concern for others, and works to instill a sense of respect and gratitude in a child life.

The Growing Place Preschool is licensed by The State of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). All of the classrooms are aligned with the Illinois State Early Learning Standards. Although there is not a religious curriculum, we do have religious storytelling, snacktime prayer and holiday events on a monthly basis.

Our goal is to nurture the development of the whole child emotionally, intellectually, socially and physically. The preschool and the church work hand in hand offering classes, events and workshops for all families in the facility. At the Growing Place Preschool, we inspire a love of learning through creativity and imagination; challenge children by growing them in independence and motivate them to work toward a better world.

Community Presbyterian Church has a shared mission to minister to the needs of all families within our community. Community Presbyterian Church created the preschool program in 1972 as part of its community outreach

Play is a powerful gift to children and essential to their development. We believe in powerful play! Brain research has proven that play promotes neuron growth which lays the framework for lifelong learning. Child-initiated play facilitates school and life success through its development of:

• Language skills

• Socialization

• Physical skills

• Problem solving

• Creativity and imagination

• Academics (Math, Science, and Language Arts)

• Healthy self-esteem
